My son and I spent a week down in Missouri on an out-of-state cold roll for coyote. We had a blast and caught some critters. We have a specific interest in catching gray fox for a project of his and I'm already trying to get our next trip planned. I'm wondering what state has a population that if a father/son set about for a week with the specific target of grays, we could catch a few? Any help?

Curious what the project is?
Gray fox tend to inhabit more wooded terrain with smaller fields.
I found that once I hit the coyotes hard, the fox repopulated quickly.

He has made a tanned fur display all with critters he has trapped. We want to add a gray fox to the collection.

SW Texas has a lot of them. I caught 70 of them one winter when I trapped there. Getting permission is the hard part.
