Gold is climbing, has been, tween 1840-1850 break restance at 1850 mite see 2000. I don't care who is in office. Some super Repub. or a bozo Dem. as long as we are on a fiat currency system with a not federal, not reserve, not bank, privately owned company in charge of our money everyone of us is going to get, well not a good thing. Go ahead print some more "it's just paper" Just my opinion, I know others have there's.

Roll those dice. Good luck. It's not like the house always wins, heck they may even let you skim some cream. Win, Win.

Admittedly I don't have a clue what a bitcoin is but if you own 5 of them you just lost 20k in about 15hrs. If I understand the chart. Just my opinion, of course.

Only months ago people were calling Bitcoin at 38k "tulip mania", now Bitcoin at 38k is a death spiral. I love it.

Whatever gets the clicks I suppose.

Hopes dreams and imagination. Currency thought up by the same generation that is calling for defending the police , summer of love, bail reform and green energy is the answer........

I am somewhat of a sceptic of Bitcoin. However, the same could be said of the US dollar; What backs it up? Anything?

Nothing "backs" Bitcoin. Its one if its qualities that makes it the best money ever created... no 3rd party risk (when you properly custody it yourself) . Almost everything you (think you) "own" right now is "backed" by a 3rd party. Your dollars in your bank account, your retirement accounts, etc. If the Federal Government wants to take it they can with ease.

However, the Bitcoin network is secured (different from "backed") by tremendous amounts of electricity which is distributed worldwide, making it extremely difficult for even a State actor to attack.

That's a good question. As stated I don't know about bitcoin, maybe like our federal reserve notes, the full faith and confidence in the American Govt. but in this case with my admitted lack of knowledge might be the world bank. Hopefully someone with a knowledge of the trading system will chime in and help us out, as I also would like to know.
