I will be curious to see how those several hundred yotes that did not sell may go for in future sales this year if they sell this year at all. Lot of concern right now for the coyote market and even the better half.
We will see what the March FHA sale has for prices on the better coyotes.

bblwi One of the buyers there told me that FHA was talking a $40 heavy western. Was it true? I do not know, I did not hear it from FHA. I feel the ones that passed up offers of $45 may wish they would have let them go. How many years are you going to keep fur that is not selling at the level you think it should. The average person selling fur knows a little less about the market than the guy they are selling too.

The 2 market crashes I’ve been through I’ve always unloaded early as it usually gets worse. The ones who say I’ll just put them in the freezer they ain’t eating anything never brag about what they got later. Most people that hold in a down market wether fur, stock, comodities ect. Don’t do well.

Thanks MJM for the info. I wanted to attend the auction, as Ive never been to one but it ended up being on our sausage making weekend this year.
I think it'd be interesting to see.

Edit: Is it correct that there is another auction in mid-march?

Unloading in a falling market might make sense, but some of the prices I've been seeing, dumping now may only insure that you catch the bottom. I agree with MJM that they may regret not taking a $45 offer at NDFTA. But, again the prices some are reporting in other places, there is really not much left to lose by holding on.
