I just bring the hammer of Thor with me. 8lbs with a stainless digger. I’ve put that digger through purgatory for 8 years now and you can’t tell it’s hit a rock.

I but the peen off a ball peen hammer
Cut a valley and weded in a carbite blade

Lots of 7018 heat treat it weld a high carbon steel in rod where the handle goes in Then fit a peice of schedule 40 pipe weld it on and lay a good 7018 bead on the joint

Its a dream to use drives stakes in rock digs in rock hard ground and lasts firever

Most guys ive worked with go to a simular hammer

Takes slot of work out of setting with a long handle and heavy head

Wayne derrick built the first ones i seen i copied his desighn i just went with carbite and normalized the head [Linked Image]

Those look like nice hammers but I would like to see the grip extended up the handle personally.

It actually feels pretty good in the hand, just the rubber grip is a bit to big.

The rubber grips look too short.
Square striking surface is peculiar.
