I have 6 top lot adjustable wood stretchers for coons that work well, but I'm looking to buy another 1/2 - 1 dozen. I went to their website and couldn't believe how much they've gone up since I last bought them.
That got me looking at wire stretchers.... for the price, they seem like they would work well to increase the amount of coons I can put up at one time.
When I look at the sleepy creek stretchers online, they have a #23 and a #4. I was thinking the #23's would be better to buy since I already have 6 adjustable ones for really large coons.

What are your guys' thoughts?

Where are you seeing Sleepy Creek stretchers for sale? Any chance you are looking at the old website before they closed and sold the business? Anyway, if you can find the #4's they are an excellent stretcher, strong wire and good hooks. The don't work well for smaller coon, lg. and down, but I doubt you ever see any that small where you are located.

I saw on Funke Trap Tag and Supplies, they have the #23 stretchers.

I see the #23, awful narrow for raccoon except some tiny ones. I'm guessing that is inventory on hand since before the change in owners. Maybe the new owners have started making stretchers already, seems like they'd get more of the different traps in production first?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I found them available from "Hilltop Outdoors" website. I guess I wasn't aware that the company was going through some transitions.
I will try the #4's. I think 6 of them is like $40. Used would be an option too, but it seems like they don't come up for sale very often locally, and shipping is a killer.

I did think about making my own, but with the price of lumber, it'd just about be a wash and I would have to put the time in. Not a big deal to save some coin, but I couldn't get it to pencil out I guess.

How far you from Fargo? I am a hour east, I have some bass wood I'd Give you a couple of boards. It is rough cut but with a band saw so not to rough.

If you’re going with wire stretchers, there are 10’s of thousands of used ones out there that can be bought for very cheap.
You’re going to need more #5’s for ND coon.

I'm about 3 1/2 hours northwest of Fargo and almost never make it out that way. I really do appreciate the offer though, so thank you!
