Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Odon Corr's bait and Good URINE!!! Careful! Tuffy explicitly told me that the baits are not intended to be used below ground level!!! They are formulated for grab & dies. I know this from not only Tuffy telling me this but from my grubstake testing last year.

Good info I make 90 to 95% flat sets the only hole type set I use is a deep slide in trench set so the trap is 2 to 3" below the surface and the bait is 12 to 15" below the ground level.Caught a fair amount in those sets but like I said I'm mainly a flat set guys, thanks for sharing that Seldom always listen to what you have to say. Thank you but I listened to what the scent maker told me and I don’t know what type of set(s) the thread-starter is intending to use with the info he’s ask for.

Coyote = ground up deer meat/trimmings. Use fresh or tainted. Can put in dirthole. Use a good quality coyote urine.
Fox = ground beaver tail that is aged and making oil. Use a good quality red fox urine.
These baits are cost efficient (free) if you have access to deer and beaver.
Or...you can buy your bait from a reputable dealer and use their reccomended lure.
Your set location is much more important that any bait and lure you choose.

I swear anything works for fox. I target cats only, but catch so many fox with my cat sets. Lenons Bobcat Super All Call works. Bacon grease works real well for gray fox too.
Just an 18 year old trapper trying to learn...

where I am the very best canine bait is moose butcher scraps, and lure of course is urine for foot traps. You only need the bait for snaring.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.
