Came across a box of new old stock traps from a guy who worked at the factory years ago. Just curious what some values are on some of them and if theyre collector traps. Theres a 150 bear trap, few 4.5 LS, 4LS, #3,#4,and #14 jumps(14 has teeth). All say oneida newhouse on the pans and are in new condition. 2 setter clamps and various chains and parts in the box as well. One has state of washington game stamp. Looking for info of time period and value. Thank you

Are you sure the jump traps say “Oneida Newhouse” on the pans??

If they are indeed “new old stock”, the long spring traps will have collector value. Do NOT do anything to the traps!!! Leave them exactly the way they are. If you do anything to change the patina, you will decrease the value.

Nice find!

Between 1989 and 1992, EKCO Corp liquidated the completed steel traps in Woodstream inventory. For any employee of trap factory, they offered a selected group of NOS traps as souvenirs at a very reasonable price.

This could be one of those packages, but the Washington stamped trap would not be part of that group. That trap along with parts, chains, etc could have been accumulated over time. The #14 w/teeth would have been made before 1976.

By late 1992 to early 1993, they disposed of all tooling, dies, and casting patterns used in steel trap making business.

Does the #4 LS have raised-letter or stamped pan ?
