Good job on the otter,HFT. The snow looks good for travel, your machine is on top.

Pretty day out on the line today Only got stuck once and took about an hour to get dug out. Ran the last of my bait out to the one bait station I still have up and running. Always love seeing fresh track at the end of the season I have to walk past one of my lynx sets that I pulled to check some otter sets. I left a huge chunk of bear there and sure enough have a little female marten chowing down Seed for next year! Picked this boy up at the ait station. Put in a pee post a little ways down the trail from the bait station. They are running around peeing on everything so we will see. No sign of the otter this run. I am a avid duck hunter Took this picture yesterday down in Wasilla by IHOP I guess they were hungry for pancakes The snow should stay hard this week with the cooler temps. Be safe out there guys!

Had a awesome time up at the fling I ran on Friday before I headed up and conditions were pretty good. Sunday and Monday it really warmed up and I decided to pull everything today. Pretty day out there. This was the driving force for shutting things down. The trap burned out of the snow and a few of my coni's had melted into the ice. Good season overall Time to start prepping gear for spring beaver and bear season. Looking forward to seeing how things pan out at the FHA auction. The fur shed is officially empty On a side note as of Monday night I am a Pop My son's wife gave birth to a beautiful little girl Be safe out there guys!

Well I ran through the beaver gear over the past few days, replaced a few triggers and got everything ready to rock and roll. Now I just got to wait for the open water Sure am glad for the ATA doing the auction at Fur Rondy and the one up in Fairbanks. Grateful that we have FHA as a outlet for fur but dang those prices were not the greatest. Hope the market gets better for us trappers. I saw 3 swans out on the flats last Monday and today I saw my first butterfly Still got over 2 foot of snow and ice on the ground but spring is coming Be safe out there guys!

Well the freaking snow sure is taking its time melting. Still no open water to play in. Got invited to go along with a buddy that is still chasing the wolves. Different terrain and some pretty views from up in the mountains. A pretty sunny day! We rolled up on a spot were the wolves had dug a huge hole about 4 ft deep, apparently it was either a winter kill or a previous kill. There was a lot of moose fur they dug out. Next run he says he is going to drop a pee post there. He had a bait station that got buried during the last two dumps of snow, of course mr wolverine found it. The wolverine had dug a den in the snow right beside it an was obviously there a few days. I thought that was pretty interesting. I have seen marten do that but didn't expect a wolverine to do that. He is having alot of burn out on his traps and is running every three days to try and keep ahead of it and not educate them. We found a spot were 3 different intersected and he dropped a pee post in. Pretty fun day out in the woods Be safe out there guys!

Well break up sure is taking it's sweet time! Last year I had 1 crane hang out here at my pond. This year I have a pair I love hearing them when they call. The pair of geese from last year came back. There is another pair that have been trying to take over the pond. Funny watching goose wars on your back porch Got out to set a few beaver traps and found these guys Sure are a bunch of the hanging around this year. Made a run down to 20 mile and did a little dip netting for hooligan Finally found some open water and got the first beaver of the season Gotta love Paul's Back Breaker Still got a week or two for the big river to open up enough to get the boat out. Be safe out there guys!
