We got a few inches of snow over the weekend, the wet sticky stuff. Today was a awesome day to run though! Beautiful out!!!!!

[Linked Image]

I love seeing track in the fresh snow! Yote and fox.

[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Picked up another yote on a trail set smile

[Linked Image]

The otters didn't come out to play this run smile Got one more section of line to close down. This weather makes me want to just take a long and go exploring!

Be safe out there guys!

Pretty day out on the line today smile Only got stuck once and took about an hour to get dug out. Ran the last of my bait out to the one bait station I still have up and running.

[Linked Image]

Always love seeing fresh track at the end of the season smile I have to walk past one of my lynx sets that I pulled to check some otter sets. I left a huge chunk of bear there and sure enough have a little female marten chowing down smile Seed for next year!

[Linked Image]

Picked this boy up at the ait station. Put in a pee post a little ways down the trail from the bait station. They are running around peeing on everything so we will see. No sign of the otter this run.

[Linked Image]

I am a avid duck hunter smile Took this picture yesterday down in Wasilla by IHOP smile I guess they were hungry for pancakes smile

[Linked Image]

The snow should stay hard this week with the cooler temps. Be safe out there guys!

Had a awesome time up at the fling smile I ran on Friday before I headed up and conditions were pretty good. Sunday and Monday it really warmed up and I decided to pull everything today. Pretty day out there.

[Linked Image]

This was the driving force for shutting things down. The trap burned out of the snow and a few of my coni's had melted into the ice.

[Linked Image]

Good season overall smile Time to start prepping gear for spring beaver and bear season.

Looking forward to seeing how things pan out at the FHA auction. The fur shed is officially empty smile

On a side note as of Monday night I am a Pop smile My son's wife gave birth to a beautiful little girl smile

Be safe out there guys!

I sent in some fur to FHA to open an account and to test the waters. I always seemed to better at the NAFA when it came to mink and marten. Mink I kinda expected to be low, glad I only got 2 this year. Marten I aint complaining. The yotes it is what it is.

Next year everything minus the marten, mink, and any rats I might get are going to the ATA auctions.

Well I ran through the beaver gear over the past few days, replaced a few triggers and got everything ready to rock and roll. Now I just got to wait for the open water smile

[Linked Image]

Sure am glad for the ATA doing the auction at Fur Rondy and the one up in Fairbanks. Grateful that we have FHA as a outlet for fur but dang those prices were not the greatest. Hope the market gets better for us trappers.

I saw 3 swans out on the flats last Monday and today I saw my first butterfly smile Still got over 2 foot of snow and ice on the ground but spring is coming smile

Be safe out there guys!

Don't see as many ducks at your place as IHOP. Must be they had an all you can eat special going on there or your vitals are not as tasty. grin

Well the freaking snow sure is taking its time melting. Still no open water to play in. Got invited to go along with a buddy that is still chasing the wolves. Different terrain and some pretty views from up in the mountains. A pretty sunny day!

[Linked Image]

We rolled up on a spot were the wolves had dug a huge hole about 4 ft deep, apparently it was either a winter kill or a previous kill. There was a lot of moose fur they dug out. Next run he says he is going to drop a pee post there.

[Linked Image]

He had a bait station that got buried during the last two dumps of snow, of course mr wolverine found it. The wolverine had dug a den in the snow right beside it an was obviously there a few days. I thought that was pretty interesting. I have seen marten do that but didn't expect a wolverine to do that.

He is having alot of burn out on his traps and is running every three days to try and keep ahead of it and not educate them.

We found a spot were 3 different intersected and he dropped a pee post in.

[Linked Image]

Pretty fun day out in the woods smile

Be safe out there guys!

Well break up sure is taking it's sweet time!

Last year I had 1 crane hang out here at my pond. This year I have a pair smile I love hearing them when they call.

[Linked Image]

The pair of geese from last year came back. There is another pair that have been trying to take over the pond. Funny watching goose wars on your back porch smile

[Linked Image]

Got out to set a few beaver traps and found these guys smile Sure are a bunch of the hanging around this year.

[Linked Image]

Made a run down to 20 mile and did a little dip netting for hooligan smile

[Linked Image]

Finally found some open water and got the first beaver of the season smile Gotta love Paul's Back Breaker smile

[Linked Image]

Still got a week or two for the big river to open up enough to get the boat out.
Be safe out there guys!
