Looks like that fox is just plain walking by that stride not seeing any fancy foot work going on maybe the fox came by after and and has nothing to do with the slid part.

Yes they do Beav-they fly out the door of the skinning shack after the hides and castors are removed.

That track pattern in pic says different look at the stride only one set of tracks no stress in that walk. Only tells half the story without seeing the whole set up.

With nothing but the fox tracks coming and going the shoulder rub makes good sense. To me if one looks on the left side of the longer run pic the little notches or marks on the left side could be the left ear as the fox rubs away from the photo and and then continues on. It could also be the right ear if the fox was coming toward the us.

Is that right in the tire track of a road ? Looks like the crown in the middle.
Maybe the fox had his nose under the snow chasing a mouse, or vole. Then caught it .. or gave up and went on.

Flying fox came in for a landing then took off again.

The tracks continue after the drag marks?
If they do I kind of like the theory of a bird landing and a fox coming along later.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

Any time I’ve seen a bird make marks like that in the snow you could plainly see the wing marks on each side .

Maybe a male fox “pushing” a female fox.
The old push start trick.

X2 Boco. Just because you only see 1 set of tracks. That doesn’t mean only one. People that snare see a single set of tracks. But it is amazing how a Fox Coyote or cat will step out of those tracks previously made. Snow snaring tells that story many times. Or the Fox just started rubbing its face in the snow as well.
