Mostly, the wife and I just drink beer, but on occasion partake in some bourbon. Buffalo Trace is my favorite, with Four Roses and Elijah Craig not too far behind. The problem is finding Buffalo Trace. Seems like it's getting harder and harder to find around here. Is this the same all over the states? (Blanton's seems even rarer to find on the shelf.)

Yes, it is here. It seemed to start in the BuffaloTrace whiskeys which was my favorite line of whiskeys with Elmer T. Lee disappearing first, then Wellers, then Colonel EH Taylor, then Blanton’s, then Eagle Rare, and finally Buffalo Trace itself disappeared. My local party store got in 3 bottles of Eagle Rare 2 months ago and saved one for me. Huge jump in $$ though! Rock Hills Farms Single Barrel 100proof disappeared about the same time as Elmer T. Lee.

Yes, buffalo trace is non existent in NC. Not to mention the others Seldom mentioned such as Eagle Rare and Blantons.
When I travel, however, Texas has about all you could ever need....I am well stocked on buffalo trace now
Gotta live up to the nickname...

PA liquor is all run by organized crime (aka the state gov't).
I can run across Buffalo Trace occasionally and Eagle Rare quite a bit less occasionally. Blanton's I saw in a store once in my life..........and I grabbed 4 bottles. Weller and EH Taylor.........forget it. The state sees to it that when the rare and allocated stuff does chance come to our state, 90% of it goes to 6 counties in the southeast corner of the state. 5% goes to Allegheny county (Pittsburgh) and the other 5% gets spread among the other 60 counties in the state.
Most are figuring out by now..........
Elijah Craig Four Roses Small Batch Knob Creek 9 year Wild Turkey 101
All the above are great pours and nearly ALWAYS on the shelf.

It forced me into exploring and finding some decent pours with the flavor profile I enjoy- Old Grandad 114, Wild turkey 101, Makers Mark 46, and Old Elk Wheated Bourbon to name a few

I think that's the stuff my wife was telling me about she was listening to a pod cast where they were discussing it and the theft problem the plant has , one of the real fancy ones they serialize the bottle , people sell the empty bottles on Ebay , then if you watch long enough you can often see the same Sn# come back up for sale some place the factory had a theft problem usually a little hear a little there but at one point it was a bunch of barrels of the stuff like a truck load not your little ford ranger either. they hype the product and most people can't really tell the difference from a less expensive bottle https://www.foodandwine.com/news/buffalo-trace-whiskey-online-scam-warning
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare are both allocated here. Local liquor store gets 3 bottles of each every few months. They call me and let me buy one bottle. They have people from NY and Pennsylvania on a sign up waiting list. I've been sipping on Fighting Kock bourbon as of late.

I got sick of having to look for the bourbons I like. It’ll take them years to ramp up production. I started in on Irish and Scotch whisky.

We found out years ago from a very seasoned bartender that JW Double Black is a great scotch in cocktails and he was absolutely correct. It’s been our go-to mixing scotch ever since offsetting Makers Mark 46 or Old Granddad 114 as our mixing bourbons.
