I've caught 14 coyotes since 2014, but 5 6 of those were in were in a 2 week stretch starting Jan 29.
Stuff started clicking for me. grin
I also caught a pup back in October.

Awesome, had my best this year. Caught 5, wanted to catch more, but didn't work out. Always good to feel like you left it all out in the woods/field!

Congrats. Each season I try and do better than the previous year. Or at least meet or beat last years numbers on each property.

Great job. I too drastically improved my coyote catches. Tripled from previous year.

Martin IF you are serious about continuing to increase your coyote catch ...keep expanding your horizons. I highly recommend the Furtakers College or other intensive educational ventures like Coyote U., etc...or private lessons for top notch coyote men etc. And ...with these rock bottom wild fur prices...continue to fur trap each season ...experiment with what you’ve read or learned. Continue to upgrade equipment and hang out with known coyote trappers at conventions. The world needs more trappers!

I contacted Mark June about a private lesson because he lives about 45 minutes from me, but he is very busy with college . He was willing to do it if he found the time, though.

Mine is setting right on sign (I used to not do that) and time in the ground. I used to HAVE TO have 1st or 2nd night catches, or I got nothing, because of the small amount of time I could spend at the ranch. Now I'm here all the time.
One of the coyotes pictured was caught in a set that was in the ground for almost 2 weeks.
