Anybody use any kind of reflective material on their traps to tell if theyve been sprung for checking in the dark?

What animals are you after?

I don't think tape would hold up very well. Probably better off using florence paint.

Coyotes mainly, but will take whatever. I just have a lot of deer spring traps but i like to keep my distance when checking traps. Ive seen people paint their traps. Didnt know what would show up the best with a flashlight.

Any gloss color will shine with a flashlight. Even gloss black will put off a different shine then grass/dirt the trap was bedded in if trap is set off and out of the ground.

I used to use aluminum foil when trapping coons when I was a kid.

Might be useful for traps on drags.

There was an individual on here that painted his traps a bright color (pink I think and it wasn't me) and said you could see them from a long way off if they had been fired and out of the bed.

Sam Woods paints his pink if I remember right.

I use it on my drags, really helps. I have two pieces one at the drag and one at the half way point.

I like the idea of using reflective tape on the drag. That’s a good idea
