I am trying to decide how to size a lure that I am making. 1,2 and or 4 ounce are the common sizes I see. I am wondering what everyones opinion is on lure sizes. When i was younger almost everything i got was in one ounce containers. Today I see everything sold. Thoughts?

Depends how your going to carry it and how much total. Here we can drive to about every set location so we work off the tailgate or close to the vehicle so it’s not a issue then. In cold weather the taller jars and bottles are easier to handle often with gloves. I don’t go under 2oz sized jars they empty fast and waste a lot of lures that way.

On the line, 1 or 2 oz wide mouth jars are the easiest to carry and use.

I like 2 oz wide mouth bc I can shove a couple in my pockets or jacket pocket if I’m walking to a set. I only buy 1 oz bottles if it’s something I haven’t used before.

If you’re going to sell the lure, people may not want to buy it 4oz at a time until they know it works. Other people may not want to pay for 4oz at a time. I’d say 1oz and 4oz are the ticket.
