Milwaukee M18 platform using generic batteries from Amazon or eBay. Also M12 platform for smaller tools. Generic batteries also. Both platforms have tremendous tools.
Keep batteries in room temperatures and they will work 2-3 times longer. I keep all batteries in one tool bag. Easy to carry in each day after work. They go in the storage room - heated and air conditioned.

I've been pleased with my Dewalt 20 volt cordless.

Milwaukee. My Sons are carpenters, my Brother is a carpenter, I'm a handyman. Sons and Brother have always had Dewalt and are now moving to Milwaukee slowly. Brother likes Milwaukee....especially the double mitre/double bevel laser saw. My Dewalts are doing just fine but if I ever get a new mitre saw it will be a Milwaukee.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

When my Dewalt 18 volt tools batteries died I replaced with dewalt 20volt tools and they have worked great. I also bought an adapter to run my 18 volt tools with the 20 volt batteries so I did'nt throw out my 18 volt tools . There is an idea.

The Milwaukee M18 compound miter saw is fantastic! The portable work stand they make looks lousy. I bought the Bosch stand which is super. No problem using it.
Above I mentioned keeping the batteries in room temperature. I meant don’t let them stay in a truck to freeze in the winter and roast in the summer. The lifespan is much longer.

The M18 cordless drills don't last too long in my limited experience. The M18 weedeater is pretty good quality so far. The batteries are pretty decent. I would recommend Ingersoll Rand for impact guns. Not cheap, but hopefully they won't burn out like Milwaukee.

I'm a professional contractor. I've been using the Milwaukee M18 platform since it came out about fifteen years ago. I have no complaints.
Eh...wot?

I use them daily, I have 18v dewalt, boss has 20v dewalt, the make an adapter so you can use 20v batteries on your 18v tools, Milwaukee makes good tools, so does makita. I spend as much time with my makita circular saw as I do my wife, I love her.
