Now the right thing for Biden to do would be admit he was wrong and reverse measures to suppress domestic oil production. He can't admit he's wrong because he doesn't remember what he said... He read a teleprompter. The folks pulling his strings and putting the text on his teleprompter don't care if he looks like an idiot. As long as the agenda moves forward, that's all that matters. Get the people to adopt "green" policies. Mike Yup!

You guys are way to hung up on keystone. Bad decision to stop it, but not a big factor in price. Number 1. Did the Biden administration ban fracking? Number 2. Did the Biden Administration stop selling Oil leases on Federal land? Number 3. Can U.S. production reduce price? Biden is Senile, who cares what he says? Half a million barrels stopped here, half a million stopped there and you got what the idiot is trying to fix right now.

I figure if we are going to start getting oil from Iran or Venezuela that much of that oil will be Russian. Iran/Venezuela will just act as a middle man.

He compared oil production last year to Trump's 1st year saying he produced more oil. Yet he's begging Venezuela for oil and keeps being OPEC for oil. He says currently there's 9k US oil producers pumping oil.
He won't open Keystone because that would mean Trump was right and Bidens EO to ban Keystone was available terrible thing And don't forget he's talking about buying oil from Iran too.

Dirts right for a lot of years we enjoyed the opec out producing everyone and lowering price at the pump Was this an effort to make U S production unsustainable I have no idea bt sure looks like it worked out that way Will the high price look good to Iran and Venezuela probably Whstever Biden says and does is NO good for taxpayers

The electric for everyone is a joke, a cyber-attack or an EMP from a nuke can take the whole grid down. This country is way safer during these times being energy independent and using fossil fuels. An emp will destroy gasoline powered cars too, unless you're running a carb and points ignition. Just sayin.

Simple fact of the matter is that we could easily produce the 3% of the oil we got from Russia if the idiot in the white house would not wage a war on domestic energy producers. We could also produce a good chunk for Europe and put a dent in that 30 trillion debt in the process. But its not going to happen as that would be something positive for this country and the powers that be won't have that.
Yes Dirt I said that we should not buy oil from Russia. I and others also said that we should be energy independent and we could be if the current " Administration " would let us. I am using the word Administration way out of it intended context here as the traitors in charge are anything but an administration. You just left that part of it out or conveniently overlooked it He also conveniently overlooked the fact that in several polls 70% of the American public and both democrats and republicans said we should stop buying Russian oil.

trump increased production steadily for 4 years. if you want to compare trump and bidens energy production, you have to compare where trump left off, and where we're at after 1 year of bidens policies. (not compare todays production to when trump started) production is way down, and we're seeing the effects at the pump. wish i knew how long it will take dems to get our production back up to where we were under trumps policies.
owning a gas/oil lease means nothing, w/o the drilling/fracking permits to develop those leases. also, many leases arent worth developing from a profit standpoint, and those will never be developed, so theyre all a non issue. bidens decreased the supply availability, but not the demand, bottom line. thus the begging from opec, venezuela, and iran.

"It Was Also a Political Mistake
That leads me to the final reason this was a big mistake. The average person isn’t going to do a deep dive into the reasons that gasoline prices have spiked. They are going to see that spike, and look for an easy scapegoat. Even though canceling Keystone XL has no bearing on the current gasoline price spike, for many people, it seems like basic common sense that it must have had an impact.
When I am discussing gasoline prices with people, inevitably someone will blame the cancellation of Keystone XL. That’s totally inaccurate, but the appearance is there superficially. I will say that in a few years, the failure to have Keystone XL in place could be a contributor to higher gasoline prices. If the demand is there, and it is more expensive to ship oil from Russia, for example, then gasoline prices are going to be higher."

That would matter if we were a direct democracy, we're not. The majority of Californians thought they should ban trapping, that was also wrong, the majority is often wrong.

World total production is 93.86 million barrels/day and world total consumption is 100.23 barrels/day. That’s a lot of rounding error. Are these numbers from the Biden administration?

The lack of Keystone XL is most definitely a contributing factor to today's higher prices. It should have been completed and operating during Obama's stint in the WH. The following decade would have allowed continued development of the tar sands AND the Bakken. The crude has to get to market and that seems to be the disconnect these days.

I am no expert on oil. I DO know that Bidet babbles on incessantly about global warming and the need to reduce fossil fuel use. Even a two year old ought to think that these prices and that philosophy are related.

Even a two year old ought to think that these prices and that philosophy are related. Nov 17 2021. "Just four days after landmark climate talks in Scotland in which Joe Biden vowed the US will “lead by example” in tackling dangerous global heating, the president’s own administration is providing a jarring contradiction – the largest ever sale of oil and gas drilling leases in the Gulf of Mexico. The US federal government is on Wednesday launching an auction of more than 80m acres of the gulf for fossil fuel extraction, a record sell-off that will lock in years, and potentially decades, of planet-heating emissions. The enormous size of the lease sale – covering an area that is twice as large as Florida – is a blunt repudiation of Biden’s previous promise to shut down new drilling on public lands and waters. It has stunned environmentalists who argue the auction punctures the US’s shaky credibility on the climate crisis and will make it harder to avert catastrophic impacts from soaring global heating." Got to pander to his voting block.

Heard today that leases abound but the permits to drill those leases are not out there, its tough when you can’t believe anything you hear coming from the top today so anything crazy is very possible. LOL
