One of world's deadliest snipers leaves home in Canada to fight in Ukraine: 'I have to help'

Wali is a former sniper with the Royal Canadian 22nd Regiment who previously fought in the Afghanistan War. He has a kill distance of over two miles, according to the Mirror, and is known as one of the world’s most deadly snipers.

"They were so happy to have us," Wali told the CBC of the people who greeted the former soldiers with hugs as they entered Ukraine. "It's like we were friends right away."

Wali, 40, has a young family and works as a civilian computer programmer. He said the "hardest part" of making the decision to join the war was missing his son’s first birthday. 

"A week ago, I was still programming stuff," he said. "Now I’m grabbing anti-tank missiles in a warehouse to kill real people. … That’s my reality right now."

He cares about his son. He does not care about the enemy, who wants to kill him. He has clearly done this successfully before. I am sure he gets a sense of satisfaction from helping the Ukrainians, or he would not be there.

I don't understand this feeling bad for your enemy crap, while they are killing people on your side. You have a duty to the people on your side, not the enemy.

OK Rambo, you dont have a dog in the fight yet you would rather shoot and kill someone, not in anger, not in self defense, not to protect your country, just because they have on a russian uniform? This guy aint no hero, he's a killer. And thats what snipers do, its part of the psychological warfare, They shoot unsuspecting soilders , at unsuspecting times, in unsuspecting places.
A sniper is necessary in war to protect YOUR soldiers and YOUR country, anything else is just a mercenary or paid killer.

I do not buy into 'the ukraine is the good guys' so I think this man is foolish, unless he supports the eu/new world order.

I don't know if they are good or not but they were invaded and I suppor them fighting the invaders shelling their homes. I support them going into Russia and going full on terrorism on them. When your home and family is a stake it's no holding back.
