Thanks to Trapperman and the people behind it!!! If it were not for this site I never would have found out all the details about the traps history. Especially thank you henpecked1 for posting Wiley Carrolls column about Sam Hart and E J Daileys collaboration about the 2 1/2 stoploss! So here is the deal. In 2012 at the nationals in Owatonna Mn. I bought three rare traps from my friend Jim Anderson a 31 1/2 small pan, 3 1/2 size Nisbet and a 2 1/2 B&L stoploss . I was not sure about the stoploss but bought it any way. I asked Jim where he got it from and he told me he bought it and the 3 1/2 Nesbit from Everett Horner at the Fon Du Lac Wisconsin national convention in 1994. He also gave me two pictures of himself and Everett Holding the traps. I asked Jim where Everett got the 2 1/2 from, he told me he got it from a guy named Yellow knife or something like that. Everett was gone and I could not find out anything about Yellow knife. I knew the story about the dozen stoploss E J had tested and that none had survived a flood or they were left in the woods. I could not prove the trap was the real deal...So the trail went cold until a couple weeks ago when I stumbled on henpecked1,s post about the 2 1/2 stoploss. I found out that Yellow knife was Yellow feather So here is that traps history I wish I had all the dates! Sam Hart made them for E J Dailey to use, E J gave one to John Barbee, Yellow feather got it from John, Everett got it from Yellow feather. Everett sold it to Jim and I bought it from Jim. diggerdale was at my house and took some pictures and put them on trapperman and told me how to find them thats what got me looking around at this site. Some day I will figure out getting pictures on here! Learn and share!!! God bless,,,, trapdog2003...
