Don't let it drive you to crazy. Back when wife and I were still dating. Many moons ago. We saw some thing and I say thing because to this day I still have no idea what we saw. Any years later watching some TV show on think history channel. They showed a picture of this legendary critter supposed to be a down south thing. I saw that drawing and said that's is what I saw some 30 years ago. They called it a swamp ape guess cousin to bigfoot???
So any I've spent much of my life on the river and in the woods. Heard lot weird noises took some time to figure out.
But our sitting all them years ago is still a mystery.
I don't tell that story often and wife and I didn't even tell anyone for years. Just get called nut job.

No oil and gas in my part of WV. And that wouldnt take into account the way it moved.. like the noisemaker was walking around in the woods.

Especially when the knocks were going west along the ridge above my house

Moosetrot I know you have dark hair. This thing we saw was blonde leaning towards maybe redish. I don't know how fast you could run in your younger day? I was considered pretty fast back then. But I don't think could caught this thing. My headlights lite it up. Turned looking right at us and was gone before I got spot light dug out from under car seat.
It was fast. Like said don't tell story to often because everyone thinks saw deer or coyote.. I would would say streaker before any critter I might have misideified.

The first knocks were with 50 or 60 yards and no way that a person got around the way the knocks did unless they were on a 4 wheeler and then they had to cross cricks and open gates. Impossible

My granddads old farm my neighbors and our property are all that are there.
My neighbors just bought the place and no timbering or potential timbering within 25 miles..easy
