Good that you were around some caribou .
Line robbers are a pain to deal with. So it probably cost you 1/4 of a new snow machine before justice was served !

AV you mean the caribou pic? That area is actually overrun with tracks of all kinds. That’s just off the porcupine river. Long trip to find a few caribou

Yes. Not much to eat, and not much cover. Caribou lead a tough life.

Yup. add in 4-5 feet of snow and wolves constantly on the hunt. These 6 were pushed out into this open flat by wolves. We could hear them howling while we skinned and butchered but the trees in the creek were just too thick to try get them. It would be a great place to trap though. lots of marten, wolf and wolverine.

Looks like white spruce. Some saw logs in that. You running a band saw mill Ryan? Oldest boy into that a few years now and big savings on lumber as he always building something.

I’d love to have the saw logs you guys have in the big land. With the way things are going here and the prices for lumber saw logs are getting scarce where I am.

Yup. $150 in gas and fuel to haul that wood. Heating fuel is at $2.40 a litre here. Life is expensive in the north. $400 to fill my truck right now.

I would hate to see next summers fuel prices there. Is it not barged up the McKenzie ?

no need for a gym exercise when doing wood like that. but a few tubes of AbsorbineJR sure helps

I think its barged up. wood hauling is a good work out for sure especially in deep snow And you just have to love when those buried willows start catching your feet.
