Reworked some wood stretchers, took some old metal top's off coon stretchers and put them on wood. [Linked Image]

Took nuts and weld to square stock, them welded them to the metal top's and screw to the wood.

Just a thought. Taper the wood near the metal so you won't have a hump in your put up hides.
