Probably because you have the ability to take time off of work when it's time to trap.

I seemed to notice that the verbiage that went along with each question was extra lengthy this year. A lot of people probably don't read the question's background explanation. Well, some questions are obvious & reading the background verbiage wasn't necessary I guess.

It important to read the whole question, not only for what it says ;but also, for what it doesn't say.

You have until tonight at 7PM to get in your feedback. There was no inperson hearings this year.

Lots of citizen resolutions introduced this year. Everything from eliminating sturgeon spearing to creating a Pike spearing season. Hopefully folks show up in droves again this year. Lots of questions with bad intentions on there.

We already have that here. A natural resources board made up of political appointees. Does to yours need confirmation from the Senate? The governor appointed a new member but senate has refused to confirm that person. Divided government is hard.

It seems that the text is longer and I believe a lot of that is due to the fact that being on line there is no discussion or intro to the question as it is in the live events. I voted no opinion on more this year then I ever have.
There was all this movement to simplification a decade ago and yet every year we have 20-30 or so questions regarding changing bag limits, groupings etc. on a body of water basis. Sure is a way to add a lot more text and paper to the regs or signage at each body of water.

I wonder how it went this year. I don't like the new format so for the first time in probably 20 years I didn't participate.

The wording is definitely interesting at times ie;
55 End the lead poisoning of Bald Eagles seems to be akin to Do you beat your wife anymore?

The wording should be: do you support the use of non-lead core bullets for Wisconsin gun deer season.

Thanks Moosey.
A big item was wake boats. Our Lake Association sent out an email to every member. I'm sure a lot of people participated that never heard of Spring Hearings before. I'm not sure that's a good thing in general.

The lead thing must've been voted for by non-hunters and non-anglers, or rich hunters and anglers. Non-lead fishing jigs are $1-3 each, and good luck finding a box of ammo on the shelf, let alone non-lead for under $60.

Pike spearing got a "no" vote, increasing trapper Ed cost to $20 got a "yes" as did lengthening beaver season.

I got on right after I seen this original post. It still let me log in and fill out the questions. I'm really not sure if it let me file it at end??? Not sure it took??
But anyway got look at it.
I was surprised to see the wake boat thing on there yet happy that it was. If like Corky said that lake association posted it. I can see where lots people be checking that out. As a lake shore owner I've come to dislike them folks. Not that I dislike people playing on the lake I've done my share. But it just like everything now days. You get one two people do their thing with disregard for everyone else. Sad.
I'm no fan of the all lead must go either.

Mac

horrible wording is par for the course on any referendum type question. make it as miss leading as possible and fire up the most emotion to keep logic from prevailing.

I am still waiting for a real explanation how a bullet that exits a deer >90% weight retention, the deer is then hauled out of the woods and processed is the bullet contaminating eagles.

my take on it is 55 eagles needed to die any way to make way for the new ones hatching , they are getting near as thick as red tail hawks
in my life time we have gone from 108 nests known to more than 1700 known nests , how high are we trying to grow the population , has anyone thought about what is sustainable and why we would go to extreme measures when what is already working will have us overpopulated in not that long any way

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

The last 3-5 years I have makeed no opionion on almost all of those specific issues where I don't or am very doubtful I will participate. I smirk and giggle everytime I see these dozens of questions micromanaging fish and wildlife or read the trout manual on which road the size or bag limit or the lure type changes and we had this huge movement a decade ago to "simplify" things like rat trapping seasons etc. I guess they feel most of us rat trappers are not capable of reading maps etc.
