I assume that loosening the bolt under trap is for leveling the pan. But can anyone explain what needs done after that to lower the pan? Tried tapping it to get it to slid. But didn't see a difference. Was hoping someone had a easy method for it

That should have done the trick. Been a few years since I had to do mine, but I'm sure that's what I did. Are you sure it moved?

In field fix. Set trap an push up on dog to bend up or if need pan lowered stick a screw driver under the pan but above jaws an push down

Before you loosen the bolt mark the frame with a sharpy for reference. Moving it out raises, inward lowers. Tap it with a hammer and a punch, it doesn't take much. Or what Flint suggested in field. Same system as the Alpha #3 but the pan mount with the Alpha is one piece cast.

I had to file a bit off of the dog to minimize pan travel before going off.

If pan tension is adjusted to your liking...and you ask "what else can be done", I put the pan in the vise and bend it down slightly, at the engagement area, where it gets narrow.
