Heard from buyer yesterday that rats are lower, coon not buy nomore, sell in china,90 per cent less sale then a year ago, coon at rock bottom price an can't go lower if sell, next season if monk are $4 top, might as well freeze till another season , did say that beaver, otter an cat markets should stay good likely for now an up come season

If you are freezing green raccoon skins, the electric bill might be more than the value of the pelts. LOL

The difference in coons from last year to this year is $3 for many and don't want at all this year. That is a big drop. Rats losing ground is not good to see either and that most likely will carry into the next buying season as well. My highlight for the year this year was selling 5 mink for almost $9 per mink!. I was fortunate to sell rats earlier this year and got a nickel off of $4 for several hundred.

Sold rats to Groeny this week. 108 rats at $2.00 each, all put up. Didn't even look at them. Guess it is what it is.

I stew and moan about low prices and losing money. Just think of those buyers that are holding several hundred thousand dollars of purchased fur that right now on the books may have zero value? Sooner later there won't be any cash to buy new fur. This makes the stock market look pretty safe in many ways.

You are correct wissmiss better off unplugging the freezer and with gas pushing $4.00 even if you can move the fur would not take more than a week to be in a hole for the season!

I’m gonna start putting away some cash every paycheck for the tannery bill next spring. I’d rather upholster my couch with coyotes than sell em for nothing.

Coon would have to be $15 to even think about it with high fuel costs. Then all the other costs. $2 dollar rats finished? Very sad.

Be interesting to see what Trevor Barnes is paying.

How much would it be to have them tanned for keeps generally?
Because depending on the price I may want to buy a few off you guys for more than market value.

For a project I'm considering. And it would require several furs. And was curious if a lump sum would be cheaper than just buying all of them already tanned from providers.

Tanned beaver market is hotter than ever here.
All my $115 dollar beaver are now sold out and only a few $125 dollar beaver left.
Only got them back from the tanner a short while ago.
Hope the old carcass holds up for next fall trapping.
With the price of marten at auction and castor added its looking pretty good for a mixed line next year.Sold out all the tanned wolves also.(only had a few).
Tanned Ermine almost gone and only one tanned otter left.
Gonna have to tan a bunch of raw fur from the freezer if I want to hit the Pow Wow trail this summer.
