Digging through old records and my army papers popped up. So that's where my DD214 was.

The funny is a packet I recall receiving shortly after getting home. Titled Verification of Military Experience and Training. Apparently it was for colleges to know just how many credits to award for my training.

Well first page is my 62J general construction equipment training. But Dad and I got a good laugh on page two where my primary mos is now 11C indirect fire infantry in addition to 62J. You see I've never been an infantryman and the only one in the family was Dad twenty years earlier.

I wonder if there's an army record somewhere that says I was in nam a year before I was born or Dad in Germany to see the Wall come down.

Surely you realize Warrior, that if you went to basic, which you did, you hadd your infantry training! Same happened to me. I was a 44E, machinist, and was sent to nam as an 11B, which it was then they informed me that all uniformed military got their infantry training at basic!

Maybe but a Charlie? Never touched a mortar the entire time I was in. Dad tried his best to explain how they ranged and aimed those things. Never could wrap my mind around the math.

Ha ha, I never could see through it either, but then again, I never tried! Ended up, where I went, up to the forth division, I got back in my machinist job. Lot better than humping the bush!
