Gas is 3.99 while diesel is 5.39. Diesel requires less refining than gas. Someone please explain.

It used to be cheaper than gas. It went higher when the gov. mandated "low sulfer" diesel.
If guns kill people, pencils cause spelling mistakes!

Because of Putin But more likely because of the public outrage when our regime wanted to make deals with iran and vensuela for cheap oil Because many are on welfare now and companies have to pay higher wages to keep going
Maybe its to save the earth only question is for who ???

you get almost twice as much gas out of a barrel. If every mommy dropping the kids off at school wassn't driving a Cummins,or power-stroke,or duramax,might be cheaper. Thought that was just a michigan thing Bus goes by empty every day but don't try to get to town the 15 minutes before school starts

One theory regarding the higher taxes on Diesel is that the heavy trucks cause a disproportionate damage to roadways. Hard to argue against that. They would find some other excuse to not kill the goose with the golden eggs. In most European countries, diesel is cheaper than gas. Its all about politics

It’s all about control! If you own a diesel truck what’s your thoughts on getting another vehicle. If you heat with oil are you thinking of going to wood heat? IMO ITS CONTROL!
I own a bunch of diesel equipment and all I can do is PAY and not happy about it!
I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!

Tax on diesel isn't much more than on gas, some states its the same.

At least in NY it’s the state governments fault. They sell truckers expensive overweight permits, up to 120,000 lbs gross, so as long as Albany gets their cut , bust up the roads all you want.
