Will be quite awhile yet. Probably 3rd week in June.
No doubt there’s left over coyotes in there, and quite a few but there’s a pretty fair amount of fresh skins (other critters than coyotes) that sold 100% last go around. No doubt they’ve got their hands full after just posting a couple job openings recently as well.

Interesting, but what us the difference between a lynx and a lynx cat? A Lynx is a Canadian Lynx. Black all the way around the tip of the tail, really big feet, extra long ear tufts. A Lynx cat is a fur trade name for the North American bobcat. Black only on the top of the tail, normal size feet, short ear tufts.

I thought lynx cat was more a grade. Only bobcats with select fur, white bellies, are in the "lynx cat" pile. The rest are bobcats. That’s the way is started out back in the late 70s and early 80s. Lynxcats were the nice pale heavy western bobcats. The eastern and southern bobcats were still bobcats. At some point, not sure what year, it got too confusing to have Lynx, lynxcats and bobcats. So all bobcats became lynxcats. Which cleared up part of the confusion. Some confusion remains today between Lynx and lynxcats. Additionally, when doing CITES paperwork to get the pelts across the border and back again, USFW needed some sort of standardization - all bobcats or all lynxcats. Not both.

At that time, Lynx pelts were valuable than bobcat pelts plus, Lynx sounded more exotic and prestigious.
By calling bobcats lynxcats it was a marketing plan to make them sound more exotic and increase the value.. Bobcat was so ordinary and considered to be a pest and predator. I can be a pest of a predator. Ask the coyotes I'm gonna Death Ray later today. Well... come to think about it... I am ordinary. Blessings wissmiss! Mark
