Press conference was difficult to watch. "Definitely something wrong with this picture." I thought the same.

when seconds count the cops may take an hour to do anything......keep your guns, mags and ammo.
So, we will never know the truth here...already they are spinning different tales. The lack of a quick response to take out the shooter is very strange and could be attributed to many different things....we won't know the real facts at any time in the future.
Personally, I no longer trust law enforcement...seen to many things with my own eyes that makes me come to that conclusion. Never talk to the cops, always use your rights when you have any contact with them and always be in a position where you can defend yourself/not count on them at all.
This whole incident is a disgrace.....but it did happen before in Florida. Probably happens more than anyone knows..police protecting citizens has become citizens need to protect themselves from police...there are some good cops but how would I be able to tell which are which?
Anyway, this country is done and we just see another sign of that in the Uvalde incident. Could be cartel involvment.

Our local police department is a joke. Was always told that if your in a shoot out, call the local gun club, not the police. At least the guys in the gun club know how to shoot and can hit what they're aiming at. Now I can't say the same for our local sheriff department as they are on the ball. Was told by a deputy in regards to the local police, when seconds count they're only minutes away.

I believe law enforcement and men in general have been mentally bombarded so much that their ability to make sound decisions has been forever altered….as a whole. I see very much more indecisiveness from men than I used to. I agree but also have to add the fact of questionable leadership. Prime example is our former police chief who was recently charged with embezzlement. He would also require a minimal of 3 squad cars to respond to every call. Then at the town meeting would request a higher budget due to the major increase of responses. Most officer's have little choice if they want to keep their job.

I still stand with the police. Because one unit screwed up does not mean to knock all police. I try to also -- but it is getting much harder to do so. It is not because of the men and women who risk their lives --- it is because of the policies and lawyers that won't let them do their jobs.

I heard they were told to stand down. Not to engage the shooter.

Would not surprise me if one or more of those officers don't eat their gun. I sincerely hope not, but I am not foolish enough to think that it is not likely. I heard on the radio that the husband of one of the teachers that were shot died of a heart attack. Surely relate to his wife being shot. Even in death the shooter seems to be racking up more casualties.

Administration in law enforcement is SCARED. So they teach their officers to be scared and that everything they do is scary. SWAT is a joke. They train with robots and emphasis is placed on how NOT to go into a structure. Responding officers had a responsibility. If they failed to go in out of fear or their “training” ( ihavent read anything about it just saying what u guys have posted) they will have to live with being a coward. Had that problem on the FD alot a few years ago -- No risk -- Safety first. Many quit or threatened to quit because they could not stand around and do nothing. It has been getting a little better (not alot) -- I hope the same happens with the police.
