I filled about two weeks ago and it was $1.99. Most the time the price drops during the summer, but with raising fuel prices I figure there was a good chance it would go up.

If you want a 1000 gallon tank for typical household use, you are going to have to buy it.

Just prebought for $3.17 per gallon

I have a 1000 gallon tank purchased last year. Last year the LP was #1.39 a gallon. Called yesterday, $2.39 a gallon.

I used propane at my last home. Bought an underground tank. After 10 years with the same supplier, I found several who were cheaper. Called one and told them I wanted to switch to them and that I owned my tank. They required me to pay for their technician to inspect my range, gas logs, and hot water heater. Costs was going to be well over $100, ten years ago. I stayed with original supplier but the whole deal left a bad taste.
I think the propane suppliers in my community protected each other. As an individual homeowner I did not have any buying power, so competition was erased. That’s N.C. for you where the industry has paid for lobbyists to petition representatives to put crap, laws on the books for their own benefit. A few suppliers will break with the BS for me because I’m a plumber and call them out on it. Propane in NC is a joke as far as competition goes.
