Well today is it as per full days, have a half day tomorrow. It has gone by in the blink of an eye. 30 years of teaching, social sciences and boy has this world changed. It will be a different kind of work now. (when and if I want to) I started logging with my brother at 14, turned 18 and logged, ran my parents men's and boys clothing store as well. At 21 my brother and sister in law started a group home for 8 juvenile delinquent boys, I ran my parents store, and worked relief staff in the group home. At 23 took over one of the live in group homes, living with 8 juvenile delinquent boys 24-7-365, that was an education. Got married started a family. Got my bachelors degree and started teaching at 29, just turned 60. Been coaching softball and or wrestling since 1980, was the athletic director for 13 years also. It will be strange not having to go to work, but has been a great adventure. Kathy is retiring June 7th as well. I am blessed to have her.

Jerry just retired. Be considerate ..if you're married.. of the fact that your retirement may throw her in a loop for a minute or two and she may need some time to adjust to the changes that your retirement brings to her life.
Good luck and have fun.
Stay busy.lol

Retired 11 years ago after 34 years of teaching Agriculture and science. It has flown by. Don’t know if I could have made it through all the Covid stuff schools went through. I don’t know if I could have handled it. Enjoy your retirement and don’t do something stupid like me and start a new business ( pumpkin farm) that takes more time and physical work than teaching did. Okay I actually love it and being my own boss. Good luck

Congratulations! You might wind up wondering when you ever had time to go to work.
I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!
