This was found 80 yards North west of several foxholes that overlook a OLD road bed to the south west . Does anybody have any ideas if it matches munitions from civil war

Take it to pawn stars and tell them you want 10k for it. The bearded guy will come in and tell you all about it and Rick will offer you about 40% of his appraisal

Nice find!

Used to work with a guy who metal detected. He was in good with the property owner of a local civil war battle site (Cabin Creek) and made a lot of nice finds... Lots of uniform buttons, some Minie balls, and several .69 caliber musket balls.

Kind of an eerie feeling holding some of those artifacts when you know what was occurring the last time they were touched by human hands.

Clearly from a Yankee. Ain't a scratch on it. He either completely missed his target, or tried to shoot himself in the leg so he could go back home to his momma, but also missed.
