Drasselt,
Very strong post brother with solutions aimed where they should be aimed.
I fear that the secularism of which you speak, which is the common core in our land no matter where you live in 2022, has ravaged the Western underpinnings and set our cultures adrift on a sea called
Whatever. And whatever leads to many different interesting issues.
Issues including my whatever, if I am a secularist, can't be challenged by another's whatever. We have different whatevers, and the Scottish theme from the 17th century called "Common Sense," is lost on any of us because Common Sense starts with a reverence, and awe, and fear (obedience) of the Lord God.
With no fear of the Lord.... well then my whatever becomes by definition any person's godly declaration.
We have millions of competing godly declarations from the people now. And more on the way.
All the whatevers are competing for King of the Hill called "us."
The vast majority are selfish in nature and leave no memorable legacy that future generations can look back on with pride but then again who now-a-days is much interested in a legacy. We've been sold that leaving money to our kids is a quality legacy when in fact that is rarely the case. Money is merely a thing and human hearts and souls were meant for much more than things.
We are created by God as relational beings and the proper relationship has never changed because God does not change the crafting of our
rationing minds,
our physical bodies, and
our spiritual souls.
All need nurturing of course to be healthy and strong in the face of life, but we as a secular nation have decided that the last portion of God's crafting, which is vital, is of no consequence.
The brokenness of many souls, which leads to broken physical bodies, and broken rational minds tells all of us otherwise.
But we have not been taught well as a people, because our parents weren't taught well by their parents and so it has been since the Enlightenment of just a few hundred years.
Humans are building their new Babylon with Towers of Babel everywhere.
It's impressive but it's costly in human life and suffering.
Where have we read that before
Scripture tells us that evil can more easily enter the hearts and minds of those whose chronic sin has dominion over them.
I believe there is untold levels of chronic sin occurring nowadays with rampant pornography and human trafficking at historical highs, etc.
And as more people fall into a chronic sin lifestyle, because their "whatever" lifestyle tells them all is well, evil has more of a playing field to operate in according to Holy Scripture, and so we all become involved in the games people play.
But God is on the Throne and He is a God who does miraculous things with impossible odds.
So we continue to do what we can, where we are, with what we have.
Blessings!
Mark
