For you guys that sent PM’s when I was looking for a Bavarian, thank you very much. I went with YesSir’s suggestion and a bought a pup from Skeeter Snell . He is a great guy and still has pups for sale. [Linked Image]
This is Chica, she is 12 weeks old and it’s hard to get a good picture unless she is sleeping, lol . She is to become my game recovery dog as this is what she was bred for . If she has the temperament for it she will also be my denning dog. Right now she is learning to be a house dog and it’s going pretty good. I’m not real sure who is training who , but it’s working out ok.

Looks like a redbone with a black face, lol. Cute pup. Good luck with her.

Nothing will make you more proud than when your dog discovers someone's nice buck deer. The dog will be proud also.

Are they as hard to find as they seem?

Thanks 30 , Charles I can’t wait . I’m watching the road for a fresh roadkill, I like liver and blood for training.
G H I’ve been asking around for about 9 months, this was the second time I posted on the trap shed. They are fairly new to this country and when you get one from overseas they make you sign a paper saying you promise to have them fixed as the Germans don’t want them bred. From everything I’ve read they have this breed perfected and don’t want us changing it. This pup has only one of her four grandparents that was born in the USA , all others came from Germany, Poland and Czechoslovakia. I wanted a female so when the time came I could breed to my buddies good male. As it turns out her sire is a littermate to my buddies Boon dog. These two dogs have have recovered over a 135 deer between the two and they won’t be 4 years old until September. I’d say them Germans got it right .
