Anyone try to make fish oil from tuna? I have a couple pounds of steaks that were cut real thin and have been sitting in the freezer too long to eat now. Anyone know if itll produce oil if I render it out? Will go a different route if not.

You won't get much oil from a couple of pounds of fish steaks. They would make a good bait most likely cut into usable size pieces.

Thanks Mr. Jameson! That was the other route I was hoping to go if it was told it wasn’t going to be worth it. Do you know if it would produce well with more volume? Probably run it through a grinder and start testing to see what eats it whenever the temps come down some. I appreciate the insight very much

Increasing volume would help but you really need the fat content to make oil. If you had some exceptionally fatty cuts then it might be worthwhile to make the oil.
