You have to put your 9 mm wrench for quick length to attach Wolf Fangs in the cooler. Because its to hot to hold!!! LOL!!

Thought it would be easier to leave the hammer, stake driver, and sifter on the hitch haul while riding from spot to spot to put in some sets. I could feel that heat of the driver through the leather gloves. Summer time trapping really shows the desire…it is NOT fun.

Sometimes I use my tarp. To cover my trapping bag and drill. It helps some. But its 94 in the shade right now. Rain is coming. 2 or 3 inch in next few days. SO i am setting traps like a mad man

We're supposed to hit 90 degrees here at the house for the first time this year in the next couple of days. At least I escaped that dang humidity lol.

Humidity is at 73 % here right now. ALL WAYS like this in the deep south. Humidity and Rain is all we have But. Im still catching 1 or 2 coyotes everyday. Got 10 days left on this 45 day. Multi land Non Disclosure job then its of to a 14 day high fence THEN i get A 5 day rest break. I can make cable stakes. And dips some traps. While in the AC !

I do not envy you souther folks in the summer. It’s gonna break 100 degrees here all week, BUT with 11% humidity.

We where at 111 deg yesterday in college station. It broke a 150yr heat record. It’s 103 deg now on my back porch. We still have a long ways to go. Definitely going to be a record breaking summer. Stay hydrated Steeltraps !

Do you drip sweat in that? Or does it evaporate and you slowly dehydrate without realizing it?

I was in South Texas in 2020 at the end of May and First few days of June. Hit 104 degree 1 day. Its hot. Burns skin. No matter how tan you are. Before I got their. Had dozens of people tell me = How I couldnt trap in the end of May and start of June. Texas is Hot for sure. But the deep South feels hotter. Its the humidity. It you can handle 70 to 95 % humidity and 100 degrees in the South then you can go anywhere and work. Texas New Mexico Nevada Utah may get to 115 degree or more. BUT 100 degree and 80-95 % is going to make yoy sweat just as bad

I know the feeling, while bedding a trap it looks like its raining on the set from sweating. Then heat and humidity is terrible. It seems to have slowed the movement down a little in my area also.

Thats another good reason for using a tarp. Sweat beads up. And before it falls of your face. Lean your body back and it hits the tarp. Its wet here. All the time. So I place = Top. Dry dirt on my left. Then wet dirt on my right. So i often = have a sweat towel dead center of my tarp. Or on back of my neck. I dont get crazy with = worrying about sweating on a set. BUT do my best to keep as much off ground as I can

It evaporates about as quick as I can sweat it out lol. You’ll get dehydrated, but not slowly. On days when I work out in the heat all day I’ll drink two plus gallons of water and never have to pee. But I’ll take that over the humidity all day. Went to Alabama to visit family once and almost died lol sheets on the bed feel damp, can’t get dry after a shower, clothes feel all sticky all the time, noooo thanks.

Bob. You are welcome to come back to Alabama and help us catxh some coyotes in August. I will be running several big coyote contract jobs. The best thing is = when its 97 degree and it rains for 20 mins. We are on large properties so you just move ti the otherside of the property and keep setting traps. Fun part is = at 97 degrees abd after a 20 min rain shower is almost 100 % humidity. It atually hurts to breath the air. Its like HOT going down your throat. LoL!

My traps get cleaned when setting. No matter what I do, the pan ends up shiny clean from the sweat dripping off my face. May have to invest in those 70’s sweat bands that went around your head, lol!

Bob - same here about drinking all day and no need to urinate. Finally around 10pm it is highly concentrated. Can’t be too healthy! From working in the heat, at night I get terrible leg cramps so bad that I use a clothing iron over a dish towel. Potassium supplement reduces them but does not completely eliminate them.

Willy, Gatorade usually keeps cramping away. But you have to drink it even when you aren’t thirsty, just finish a bottle and 20-30 minutes later drink another. I’ll throw in a water between every 2-3 Gatorades.

The problem I have with powerade or gatorade is the resulting heartburn. I already keep acid blockers AND antacid in the truck as it is.

The a/c in my Tacoma hasnt worked sense the fall. I got it fixed last week. I didn’t realize how much my truck smelled like a locker room until now. One upside to the heat is you don’t have to worry about too many people wanting to take your job.

Or your truck! Mine swear buzzards circle my truck when I’m at work.
