Hello fellow trappers...I've been staying at the cabin a good month now and with fuel prices the way they are its hard to justify the 1200 mile trip back to my main house...I've done this solo stuff for months on end many times and this year for some reason its seems a mite bit lonely...My good old dog died last winter and I have a new one this year but its just not the same kinda dog, company wise...the old girl would go with me everywhere and this one wants to lay on the couch like a teenager lol...maybe its the dog or maybe its my age, almost 60 now but this year seems different...politics, world situation? Don't know but am I the only one feeling like this year is a little off? Not like I'm trapped in the bush or anything...a four hour quad ride and and a half hour truck ride gets me onto the alaska highway and to a post office and a store and even a doctor if I need it...anyways just thought I'd say hello...

something else, has anyone tried using otter toilet manure on the garden? I just tried some on my onions and rhubarb and gonna see how that works out lol...

Many a older couple had great rows of raspberries, only to find out where the overnight peepot was drained every morning.
As for onions if you dont have root maggots in them I would shy away from the manure useage

many times the garlic that comes in from China is infested with hepatitis that they pick up in the testing of Health Canada, and when used raw has bad repercussions

It sounds like you are in a good place. Away from all the stuff that is going on. Take some pictures if possible so we can enjoy what you are.

Loosing a good friend is hard. Best thing you did is replace her and move forward. Sorry for your loss!
Your fortunate to be in a place where you don’t have to see the world of today. Enjoy and be safe

I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!
