That was very moving and descriptive writing of your experience up to and including your surgery. I hope your recovery goes well and you can be comfortable during the process.
I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

Thanks for the writing, awesome job explaining your feelings and experiences!!
Yes, we are mere mortals in the end, nobody here gets out alive. You got to "walk" up to the edge, think about it, and live again. Many don't get that chance. May God give you more time to spread your wisdom of your experiences of life...

Glad to hear you made it through . The mental rollacoaster is worse the the physical one.
My neighbor walked over to our property line a few months ago to see what I was up to . I was moving a bunch of dirt around with a rented skid steer to level off some trailer parking . He was out of breath , I asked him if he was ok and he said he was going in for heart surgery in a few days . He seemed worried but tried to laugh it off . I tried to ease his mind with " that's an easy routine surgery " and " they have great doctors in our town " even though I am very skeptical of the so called medical profession . Anyways , they killed him ......he would have lived longer had he just stayed home . I miss the old dude , it's too quiet down at his house now . No chickens squawking , no activity what so ever . Just a disturbing erie silence

My thoughts always went to "Whos gonna take care of my Beagles", I know they SAID they would, but... Good luck.

LT GREY, Thank You for expressing our emotions while waiting for surgery. We are alone at these times, and do some of our most honest introspection. Please spend some time hanging around Paul's booth Agreed! Thanks for sharing, LT. Hope to see you in Lima as well

Hang in there man. Kickin and fighting till the end. It’s the right thing to do. I don’t know why I said it because it’s obvious that’s exactly what you’re doing.

I can relate to your experience. Have been there several times over the last six years and will most likely be there again within a few months. I have heard the saying that "dying is easy its living that's tough". That could be the case, have thought about that when in the ICU and rehab multiple times. The close calls seem to be more frequent. My faith is the only thing that carries me thru those times. I read a suggestion in a cancer survivors article a few years ago. When ask how I am doing, its easier to say" I'm doing OK" than it is to explain why I'm not". I use that often. Wishing you well LT Grey.
