Does anyone use old buck skulls for T Bone sets. I have several old buck skulls on the roof of my shed and was thinking one out in a food plot would make good eye appeal and a good t bone set.
Thoughts?

Just don’t forget about it and puncture a tire. And make sure no one else decides to “find” it

Around here the more eye appeal a coyote set has the more coyotes you spook. I put a stick about the size of ur thumb and about a foot out of the ground pointing up in front of two cameras this spring to test if a rub set would be productive. This lure was a proven coyote catching lure ive used for several years. You would have thought I had put out out a picture of Pelosi the way most of the coyotes reacted to that stick and this was in areas that i regularly test lures on cameras so the coyotes are use to new odors, the camera and me leaving a little scent there. I've tried cattle skulls and actual t bones and wasn't that impressed on my coyotes. I'll stick with nose appeal for the most part.
I will add I did have one taker on the rub set and he rubbed pretty good but I think it took him a couple visits over a couple days to give it a go.

Yes Sir is 100 % correct. Same thing down here. Its like =‘if you put a t bone or even a Small skull here. Its like an = alien came down and put it here. I have seen = in the sand = on a 2 track road. Coyote literally jump out of the 2 track on a small deer or hog tbone.

I was taught to use bones early on but side by side with dirt hole and flat sets on natural objects taught me to leave the bones hanging on the shed. That and getting a few skulls "liberated" right off of sets by passersby.

Today the biggest item I might bring to a set is a nearby, as in arm's reach, rock or limb.

One real good one for me this year was a small retaining wall brick with a smear of lure under it.

Turtle shell around pup dropping time is a fairly good toy type set. Drill hole threw turtle shell. So you can stake it down. Back it up against some grass so it dont look like = aliens set it down there. And lure or bait it inside shell. Works well when it is very rainy. Can buy 12 pack of turtle shells of Ebay fairly cheap. If you can find them in woods

Budzmtn. I would not say = totally write off deer skulls or tbones. Just us at the right time of year. I going to a coyote job friday that I have worked for may years past. I can tell you. Right NOW their is NO way i would use a = skull tbone or a dirty hole set !!!! But. If I had to post pone this job till September??? Yes. I would use all 3 !!! Why?? Be real easy to clean up those fall pups. We have no fox left here. So you see a bunch of small tracks ??? Their coyotes. So a tbone. Tucked in to the grass? Hiden just a tad? Be great for those pups. Or a deep dirt hole. With a 10 ft of chain Saber Tooth drag. I change tatictics often in September
