Does anyone really give a rip?
Can't turn on my iPad without "a sighting" being front n center.

Could give a care less. Are people really that bored with life that this is "Big News" to them?

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

Magic is dead, science killed it, finding an ivory is like finding magic in the world again

Supposedly extinct. No creditable sightings for 50 or more years.

Holy grail of birdwatchers to re-discover the species.

Probably Conservations next reason to enforce their next laws and regulations. Currently it’s CWD.

I would really like them to still be out there. Would be awesome, but, I’m also a bird nerd.

I believe that it was Grits Gresham who once said that if they'd've put a season on them, they'd still be around.
Makes sense. Get the game department involved in improving/creating/preserving nesting habitat then maybe they would still be around today.

If I remember correctly, it seems there was talk of channelizing parts of the White River and then a 'grainy' film of a supposed ivory bill appeared. Stopped talk of channelizing river.

I give a rip.

Sad to think others would wish a whole species out of existence.

I guess that they only care about what benefits them directly.

Part of the selfish "horray for me and screw everyone and everything else" crowd.

I thought I read something a few years ago that there was a confirmed sighting of a nesting pair somewhere in the south east. Don't think I dreamed it! Since long before we had any influence on wildlife, species were going extinct. It ain't always our fault, but like their religion of climate change, people will always get blamed. It's easier that way! lol

There are “reported sightings” every so often but nothing that’s ever been confirmed. I would like to think there’s a chance that some birds still exist but in reality it’s probably not so. With the technology that’s available to scientists if they existed I think someone would have found them.
Many woodpecker surveys are done with “playback” sounds which are used to call woodpeckers in order to count, this is very effective as they respond well from long distances at certain times of the year. Only problem may be nobody has a original recording.

Don't know if there are Ivory Billed woodpeckers or not blut with billions of ash trees dying I bet the other woodpecker populations will increase. Should be a lot insects burrowing in those dead and dying trees.
