Dad and Mr. Colvin trapped together out west, but I don't recall when. I was a youngster back then, but recall going into his lure shed and the smells are nearly the same as I smell these days when I walk into mine. I'll never forget that smell. His wife, Vie (SP?) always gave me some cookies when we went to visit. I recall one time when there that he had a squirrel in a cage in his house.

When Dad worked for the VA dept of health trapping foxes for rabies control in the 60's, he'd test lures for Mr. Colvin and save glands for him.

I didn't see a red fox gland lure of his on that list - GL40 that he had. I used the same name for a lure of mine, but it is not of the same formulation. When I was in South Dakota, I slayed the coyotes on his Grey Fox #3. It worked great. I still have a box of his lures somewhere out in my shed. I'll have to dig them out someday and see what all is in the box.

Great share. I would love to read his stuff. I have an article or two.
