If you had the choice of a pitted #5 kenwood pan or a very nice # 50 oneida community pat date pan which would be the best choice? Looking at them both someone is selling but can only afford one. We havent discussed prices.

That question would depend on the buyer and the extent of the pitting on the Kenwood. Both are very desirable traps. Generally speaking the trap in better condition is the best choice. The amount of pitting on the Kenwood makes a big difference. Some traps with very deep pitting have little value. Just my thoughts. Have fun with your purchase!

If you’re collecting I think it’s best to buy the best condition trap you can afford - you’ll thank yourself later. There are good examples out there, half the fun of collecting is finding them. It took me a couple of years to find the right Kenwood and Community 5’s for my collection and I’m still searching for the right slick pans.
