I'm looking at making a Muskrat hat that will fit over a regular brimmed cap (baseball cap type). When Ice fishing I wear a brimmed cap for the sun, then put a knitted type cap over for warmth. Looking at replacing the knitted cap with a Muskrat cap with ear flaps. In the end I want the cap to be warm but not hot, since it is intended for regular use. Not sure what liner to use. Needs to be soft, moister wicking, durable and warm but not too warm since it is lining fur. Suggestions?

I'd look for a thin wool flannel material. Something soft as it will be against your forehead. No idea about synthetics, thats out of my league.
