What is the holly grail of traps? The special one that everyone is looking for?
Just curious, I know nothing about trap collecting, but am curious what the special trap is.

I don't have a "Holy Grail" I do have traps that sparks my imagination and want, an Up To Date mouse trap, Gibbs Armadillo Trap and the Toy Wheel mouse trap are a few, but the condition and price has to challenge my imagination and want...

The Live Bait Trap - manufactured in Norfolk NE (of which I live 20 miles from). Unlike PA or NY, OH, MI, or CT, where traps were/are manufactured, any traps made here (other than an occasional Sterling) seem extremely scarce around their original home.

Mine would be a Northwoods bear trap. There was only a handful made. I have just about every other Northwoods but that one.

Most of these I have no idea what they are. Maybe post some pics?

An Abbey & McLeod 5, 15 or 6 - not picky.

All day everyday is the pinch pan victors as I can still use them on the line and they make an excellent decoration piece in good condition.

I already have mine,,,it’s the one that got me started well over 60 years ago,,,inherited from
my wife’s grandpa,,,,100% hand made,,,I had it dated by a major hand forged collector it dated
to mid 19th century,,,,note the jaw posts are forged into the base,,,,,goes to my oldest son,,,

Heard there was a 12 Watkins at a trap meet not long ago. To my knowledge it’s still for $ale.

I bought a box of junk traps off eBay years ago in that box was early Victor #1 long spring that was dogless cast jaws if I remember right. Not a strong trap and the ring was missing on the chain. Listed it back on eBay with the same description it sold for $114.00 I was shocked.

150 Kenwood in exc condition. The quest continues.no telling what's out there.

Norfolk (NE) Live Bait Trap (for mink with the chicken compartment). I live 20 miles from Norfolk and have attended lots of farm auctions, garage and estate sales for the last 35 yrs. and never seen one. Not many collectors in NE so I think the local ones got junked. .............the mike
