I caught a skunk today I skined it out but I would like the fat to dry out. So do I have to salt the pelt it's in a freezer that doesn't work??.

Why do you want the fat to dry out? If you are planning on fleshing later, lay it on the table fur out, roll it up from head to tail and freeze.

It needs to be frozen, as Monster Toms said, if you aren't going to flesh and dry. It's warm enough here that I wouldn't want to be drying hides yet, Wisconsin may be a different story,
