I haven't lived in Missouri too long and I'm wanting to try some snaring for beaver. When I read the regs I'm not sure what's legal for water snares. There pretty specific on land snares but vague on water snares. Do I have to use a relax type snare? Do I need the deer stop? I think the snare needs to be submerged half way not sure. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not in Missouri, but the regs are not hard to find...just Google Missouri beaver snaring regulations 2022...

No on the relaxing lock. Yes may be 1/2 submerged. Yes must have a deer stop.

Thank you! I ran into a game warden on Saturday and he gave me the lowdown on water snaring. I had spoken with some other trappers in the area about it but no one knew were it was in the reg's.
