Great pics! Looking forward to hearing your story! There is nothing bad about a Colorado archery elk hunt.... Other than having to drive across Kansas to get there. LOL

Thanks for the pics. It’s been 11yrs since my first archery elk hunt and haven’t been back since. September has never been the same!

Did 2 different back pack hunts when I was younger, never harvested a elk but sure enjoyed the country.

I went there with a Wisconsin guy, it was mostly tight cover where we went

The water was refreshing, but a little chilly.

I recommend warm head gear. Sitka if you can afford the coin.






We came in from Wyoming on the way in. It just added a half an hour, but the scenery was great. Took Kansas back home through the night.

After a nearly five hour hike in, this was our view. (We found shorter route out)

Our intended camp was just beyond the pines.

We just had to make it over the rocks and we would be there.

OMG!!! Hiking over those rocks is a killer. Good luck, glad you found a better way out. Been there done that
