Been using cat food, works great until it gets wet then it molds, also after a few days maggots start appearing in the traps and then nothing will touch it. So I’ve cleaned all my traps got the maggots out and rebated with mini marshmallows, nothing .. not a single coon, today when I checked them, I threw cat food around the traps and left the marshmallows in the trap, had a deer camera set up on one, coon showed up.. cleaned up all the cat food, walked off and never touched my trap with the marshmallows, what should I be doing different? I have a golf ball on the top to keep the mice out of my DP’s. It’s like they can’t smell the marshmallows… Thanks

One of the reasons i don't use marshmallows and cat food. Generally dont have a lot of appeal. Especially this time of year unless you're targeting city or barn coon. Not saying they don't have appeal, just that there's better food sources this time of year.

What about the floating fish food ? I would think it would be perfect for rainy weather.

I used to use that GB. I mixed it with coon potion. Peanut butter and fish flavor with a hint of fish oil. Killed several and I can attest it is a top notch possum bait. Lol. I have that trouble no matter what bait I use. I have to catch the grinners before I can catch the coons. Lol Do the same now but use dry cat food. Same in my cages. Very very good summer cage bait.

I'm itchin' to see a coyote twitchin'.

More trappin' and less yappin'.

Mix some Kool-aid powder with your cat food, fish food, corn, marshmellows. Also can purchase persimmon or apple powder that is sold for deer attractant and mix that in your bait.

What flavor Kool-aid works best?

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

I've used cherry and Tropical punch with equal success.
