Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

looks to be a pre cocked striker the slide moving forward puts the striker into a cocked position like having the hammer back

so there is kinetic energy behind the striker at that point , it only needs to be released and not brought into tension then allowed to go forward

it sounds like all the incidents I read about an officer's gun discharging while holstered involved being bumped , jostled , or they were in the process of detaining some one physically.

I am a proponent of officers buy their own gun they can choose from any thing that fits certain criteria they buy it and turn in the receipt for reimbursement. build a reimbursement into their contract every 5 years and they have to qualify with it obviously.

another Sig P320 that went off in holster with lots of witnesses and not even that much jostling

that was of the SN range and model that should not have been effected by recalls

not even of high round count

definitely wouldn't want to Appendix carry the SIG , if spring failure causes discharge

I hope this gets addressed before more get hurt or someone gets killed.

Isn't the US Army issuing this now? If it actually passed all of the qualification tests it makes me wonder what SIG has changed.

I am pretty familiar with one striker fired weapon, a S & W Shield in 45 acp with the thumb safety. I have shot a couple of the Springfields and a Glock and I KNOW this is just me but I've never been able to develop the sense of trust and confidence in striker fired weapons that I have with single action or double action semi-autos.
