My dad died shortly after he turned 52. Had some sort of heart attack...NEVER went to the Dr! Get checked out guys, could save your life, and allow you to meet your grandkids! Be well!

Well, all I can say is I have been living with a totally blocked left carotid artery for 15 years and right at 60% blockage. That is my excuse for being goofy. Everyone is different, but quit tobacco immediately if you use it, get your weight under control, exercise regularly, watch the carb intake and take a good quality fish oil supplement at high doses.
I have not and do not take any drugs for it as recommended by my doctors and they put in my records that I have a conflicted attitude towards medical management. I did tons of research and only take natural supplements now as I have weaned myself off prescription meds and my overall health has improved.
Now, that is just me and I am not suggesting it will work for anyone else.
Oh, and I am old.

It could also be hereditary. Any of the older folks in either side of your family die as a result of hardening of the arteries ?

I smoke, chew, drink and love bacon and wild women. I am 7 work days away from retirement and HOPE to be dead by 60. It is all about what you want out of life. My last doctor visit was over 5 years ago. Sometimes not knowing is beast.
I have nothing clever to put here.

Is there a way to clear out the blocked arteries and make people new again? Kinda like preventative maintenance.

No orgran meat. If you drink pop make it diet. Diet 7up, Diet Rootbeer, Diet Sunkist, Fresca, Diet Squirt, Diet Dr Pepper are all good diet pops. No fast food. Drink black coffee. Stop putting butter in everything. Stop eating bacon. Stop eating hamburgers. Use ground chicken. Put a pack of Italian seasoning in it and maybe some wirch sauce before you make patties. Stop eating lunch meat. Stop eating cheese. That one hurts. Stop using cooking oil and buy olive oil. I like avocado oil better. Stop eating ranch. Use balsamic vinegar. Stop using sour cream and start using plain yogurt (plain, not vanilla) (say your making a chip dip... no so much to pile on your nachos.)
There is lean pork. The right pork is better for you than beef but not as good for you as chicken. Rotisserie chicken is good. Plain, Chicken Noodles, sandwiches. Boneless skinless chicken breast is good. Fajitas. Grill color bell peppers, onions, squash, and mushrooms. Tacos using ground chicken is good. Taco seasoning makes it good. Buying it at the spice store is better than the Ortega foil pack crap. Try fajita seasoning. Grilled portabella mushrooms. Baked spaghetti squash. Honey Nut Cheerios. Pasta is good. No alfredo. Pesto might be ok if you find a good one. Try buying some seasoned rice wine vinegar and eating that on veggies. Use hummus for a dip. Use hummus for grilled cheese sandwiches without the cheese. Google low fat soups.
That's enough to get you started. Good luck.

I agree with much of what you list. Except when it comes to pop. If you drink diet pop check to see if it's sweetened with Aspartame. Aspartame has been linked to increased risk of type 2 diabetes, various cardiovascular diseases, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, hormone related cancers, and urinary tract tumors. If you can find a diet pop sweetened with Stevia (a natural sweetener) it's a better choice. Most of the pops you named are sweetened with Aspartame.
Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.

That’s an impressive list,,, and extremely helpful,,, I seldom drink pop,, I drink unsweetened tea more than anything else. We don’t realize the crap we eat,, until we realize the crap we eat. I always had the mindset that I was burning it all off,, so I thought I was ok. I’m almost certain I’m not the only person who had the same mindset
