Hi folks! Trapping this year S.Jersey, first year. Don't have the money for new #110 but have lots of Korean cable. I am going to be using CRs in the runs. Anyone ever do this? How big should the loop be, how high off the ground? Thanks! And also, I have a blinking envelope next to my name. How do I check that?

Any damage if snaring rats? They are pretty thin skinned, just curious since hides is sold skin side out. Coon and beaver almost always have snare burn marks on hide side. Wasn’t sure about rats and mink. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I grew up trappin rats in the pines in the 70s. Some of the other young trappers used snares pretty well on rats , just because they had to, not being able to afford steel traps. Our local fur buyer would trade new conibears for fur. This was when footholds were still legal. South jersey is a beautiful state filled with muskrat.New Jersey is a whole nother story.

Hi Newt! I like the video. For everyone else, I purchased the video "master mink and muskrat snaring" from Snareone. It's a good video for me because I live in Port Norris and am going to be learning to trap the tidal marshes down here. I want to thank the folks here for directing me to snareone.
