My truck came with LED lights in the bed. I have a fiberglass cap on my truck. It has a LED light bar in the front and rear. Built a shelf on the cap rails that comes back 40” from the front. Also I use the black plastic heavy duty sportsman sleds. They come in many different sizes to configure the space. They work great because they slide in and out easily to grab whatever even when loaded. They contain the mess from captured animals. They clean up easily too. Some of the sleds are the perfect size for my Comstock cage traps to fit crosswise. The sleds are also great to pull a load rather than carry it.

I use the big lick tubs to separate clean traps and drags from the muddy bloody messes and it works good for a week or 2 and then it devolves into chaos

I just got a new topper for my truck but I plan to use milk crates and totes for all of my traps. I'll use some small DeWalt bags for the little items and tools. I run a tackle box with the 3 shelves and the bottom compartment for lure. My fiberglass poles will sit right on top of it all.

Here's a mock-up of my setup that I did tonight. This will only be on opening day and then the poles will be replaced by a jet sled for hauling fur. This is strictly for rat trapping. It's also a 5' 9" bed but the upside is that the topper has the two side windows on it.

I have a Ram pickup with a topper with side windows. Like others have said above the sides on newer
trucks are tall. I am 6-2 and have to stretch pretty good to reach anywhere near the middle of the bed
through the side windows. I use my tater rake to pull bins and crates I can't reach, kneeling on the tailgate sucks.
I am mostly a water trapper but keep a sealed bin for coyote traps and an old cooler for bait and lure.
Critters all go in a rubber bin.
Also, like has been said things look "different" after a day or two.

A rubber bed mat does keep stuff from sliding around as much and is easier on the knees.

Just bend a piece of 1/2" rebar.
